Overview

Renoted Cloud is the account, sync and sharing service for Renoted Score. Your music library is personal, and we treat it that way: we store your content to provide the service, we never sell your data, and nothing you upload is shared with anyone until you explicitly share it.

Data We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, your name if you provide one, and your sign-in credentials (a password hash, passkey, or a link to your Google or Apple account — we never see those passwords).

Your library. To sync and share your music we store the content you upload: PDF scores and parts, piece and program metadata, annotations, and the membership and part assignments of ensembles you create or join.

Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status and plan; we never see or store your card number.

Analytics and crash reports. With your consent we collect usage analytics (PostHog, and Mixpanel in older app versions) and crash reports (Sentry, and Bugsnag in older app versions). Both are off by default; you choose whether to enable them and can change your choice at any time. We never collect the contents of your scores or annotations for analytics.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to provide the service: keeping your library in sync across your devices, backing it up, and delivering the pieces, parts and programs you share to the members of your ensembles. We do not sell your data or use your content for advertising.

Sharing

Your library is private by default. Content becomes visible to other people only when you share it — by inviting members to an ensemble or organization, assigning parts, or sharing a program. What each member can see and do is governed by the role you give them.

We rely on a small number of service providers to run Renoted Cloud:

  • Cloudflare — application hosting, storage and content delivery
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • PostHog — usage analytics linked to your account, only if you opt in
  • Mixpanel — anonymous usage analytics in older app versions, only if you opt in
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting, only if you opt in
  • Bugsnag — crash and error reporting in older app versions, only if you opt in

Cookies and Your Choices

We set the cookies we need to sign you in and keep you signed in. Analytics cookies are different: they are set only after you agree, and if you decline the only cookie we keep is the one recording that answer. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.

If you agree to analytics, these are set:

  • ph_<id>_posthog — PostHog’s visitor and session identifier, so return visits are not counted as new people. Expires after 1 year.
  • rn_analytics_consent — remembers your answer so we stop asking. Expires after 1 year, and is set whichever way you answer.

Both are first-party cookies, shared with renoted.app so that one answer covers our marketing site and this app rather than asking you twice. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal we leave analytics off and never prompt you. You can change your answer at any time under Settings › Usage analytics & crash reports.

Your Rights

You can export your content — every piece, part and program as the original PDFs — at any time. You can delete your content, or your whole account, whenever you choose. After a cancellation we keep your data available for 90 days so you can come back or finish exporting, then delete it.

If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (such as the GDPR or CCPA), you can exercise them — access, correction, deletion, portability — by contacting us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

Musicians of all ages play in ensembles, and a director may invite students to a group. We collect from members only what the service needs (an email address to sign in) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond that. Schools and youth ensembles should invite minors in accordance with their own policies and applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
